Thatch Shield was formed by Steve Graham in 1996 specialising in thatch property insurance, fire safety advice, rebuilding cost appraisals and structural surveys. His vision was to offer entirely independent advice to his clients, which he still offers to this day. The company has no affiliations or connections to any insurance companies or thatching organisations.
Prior to forming Thatch Shield Ltd, Steve worked for large insurance organisations including the Country Gentleman's Association and as a director of Thatching Advisory Services Ltd, at the time the largest thatching company in Europe. At that company, Steve established the largest thatch insurance account in the Lloyds Insurance market and ran a membership scheme offering thatch surveys, 24 hour emergency cover, vermin damage protection and discounted insurance rates.
Steve has been a frequent speaker at seminars for surveyors, architects, builders and estate agents.
